6.1 Life and work - a second marriage continued |
Already since his years in The Hague, Jaap had been interested in astrology. He also talked about this with his daughter Paula. In one of the etchings from this period he makes a statement in symbolic language about this.

In his work during this period, he explicitly addressed ungracious situations he encountered. He was shocked by an article in the magazine ‘The Army Courier’, written by an army chaplain.

He was also an outspoken supporter of women's emancipation and over the years he repeatedly questioned partner relationships through his work.

In those years Jaap gave astrology lessons in his studio. He also led a Vimala Thakar discussion group in Baarn, who worked in the spirit of Krishnamurti.
